Anil Kumar Boro (Padma Shri – Literature and Education)

Anil Kumar Boro is a respected academic and researcher whose work focuses on the ethnographic and cultural heritage of Assam. His scholarly contributions have been crucial in documenting the folklore, languages, and indigenous knowledge systems of the region, particularly among tribal communities. Gita Upadhyay (Padma Shri – Literature and Education)

At the age of 84, Joynacharan Bathari’s contribution to Dimasa folk music and the preservation of traditional musical instruments has been extraordinary. As a master of instruments like the khram (drum) and muri (flute), he has dedicated over six decades to nurturing Assam’s folk traditions, passing his knowledge to the younger generation to ensure these art forms remain vibrant.

Reba Kanta Mahanta (Padma Shri – Art)

Reba Kanta Mahanta is celebrated for his contributions to the field of visual and performing arts in Assam. Arunoday Saha (Padma Shri – Literature and Education)

Arunoday Saha has made outstanding contributions to literature and higher education in Tripura. David R. Syiemlieh (Padma Shri – Literature and Education)

6. Arunachal Pradesh

Jumde Yomgam Gamlin (Padma Shri – Social Work)

Jumde Yomgam Gamlin, known as “Nasha-mukti ki Nayika”, has devoted her life to de-addiction and social reforms in Arunachal Pradesh. Through her NGO, Mothers Vision, she has led anti-drug campaigns, established rehabilitation centers, and worked tirelessly to eradicate substance abuse among the youth. Her grassroots activism has transformed countless lives and strengthened community resilience.

7. Nagaland

L. Hangthing (Padma Shri – Agriculture)

Popularly known as the “Noklak Fruit Man”, L. Hangthing has revolutionized sustainable farming practices in Nagaland. His innovative agricultural techniques and dedication to organic farming have empowered thousands of farmers, improving food security and livelihoods in remote villages. 8. Sikkim

Naren Gurung (Padma Shri – Art)
