Bodoland Movement The Bodoland Movement represents the demand for a separate state for the Bodo people in Assam. This movement has had a long history, with significant moments in 1993, 2003, and 2020, when accords were signed to establish the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR). However, many in the Bodo community believe that their quest for a separate state is far from over. The movement reflects the aspirations of the Bodo people for political autonomy, cultural recognition, and economic development. Boro Tribe The Boro Tribe is one of the most significant indigenous groups in Assam, known for their rich cultural heritage, language, and traditions. The Boro people have been at the center of the Bodoland Movement, demanding recognition and a separate state to preserve their identity. The Bodo Sahitya Sabha, formed in 1952, played a crucial role in promoting their language and literature. Over the years, the Boro community has remained central to the political landscape of Assam and Northeast India.
