Cultural Identity Crisis: Tibetan Youth in India The Tibetan refugees who fled to India in the 1950s and 60s found temporary shelter, but for many, especially the younger generation, the question of identity has become a lifelong struggle. Caught between the spiritual roots of Tibetan Buddhism and the modern pressures of assimilating into Indian society, young Tibetans often find themselves in limbo, neither fully Tibetan nor fully Indian.
